老师几个问题麻烦一下1.昨天问的那个句子I don\x27t think it was the first time he\x27s had to do thatthat在定语从句中状语？不是说只有做宾语才可以省略的吗？2.另外it\x27s grossly overstated that那个句子that引导的是宾语从句了？overstated只是修饰grossly的？这里能不能看成强调句型？3.有种定语从句 educators tell families of children who are learning English as a second language to speak onlyEnglish，and not their native language,at home.看起来有点变扭 并不像一般的定语从句比如China is a country which has a long history可翻译为中国是一个有很长历史的国家。而这个句子好像就不行一般译为教育工作者告诉了把英语当做第二语言而只说英语的孩子的家庭。类似的还有一句but there\x27s also a rising awareness of career options that PH.D. scientists haven\x27t trained for directly.一开始对 这个rising awareness of career options 也是很不理解。而译文却翻译成然而，人们也越来越意识到这是因为理科博士生没有受到过有关职业选择的直接训练。

在限制性定语从句中 有时 可以用that 代替关系副词when where why 引导定语从句 这种用法的that 也可以 省略 。

最熟悉 的例子  i don't like the way that he speaks 

                       = i don't like the way in which he speaks

                       = i don't like the way he speaks

2.另外it's grossly overstated that那个句子that引导的是主语从句

overstated是表语 被grossly 修饰

这里不能看成强调句型  因为去掉 it‘s...that  ...句子不成立
3.有种定语从句 educators tell families of children who are learning English as a second language to speak onlyEnglish，and not their native language,at home.看起来有点变扭 并不像一般的定语从句比如China is a country which has a long history可翻译为中国是一个有很长历史的国家。

这个句子是个 tell sb to do sth句型  可以  译为 教育工作者要求 把英语作为第二语言的孩子们的家庭成员  在家只说英语 不说母语  。
类似的还有一句but there's also a rising awareness of career options that PH.D. scientists haven't trained for directly.一开始对 这个rising awareness of career options 也是很不理解。

译文可以翻译成   ：然而，也存在着 理科博士生没受到过 有关职业选择 的直接培训  的渐渐形成的 意识。

第一个that定语从句中做宾语可以省略，第二个是do的宾语。
2.it's grossly overstated that
首先，grossly是副词，修饰overstated这个形容词的；
第二，that引导的是主语从句
